Picture a wizard mixing reagents in a cauldron.  Such is the life of an Alchemist.  An alchemist mixes herbs found with herbalism and different reagants.  There are various effects including invisibility, healing, resistance and potions.

To Power Level Alchemy you will need a lot of herbs.  You will either have to be a herbalism profession or buy the herbs from the auction house.  Check out our Herbalism Power Leveling Guide Here.  This may be expensive, if you dont have enough gold make sure you check out this page.  It is always nice to be a level 375 alchemist because alchemists are highly needed in PVP situations.  You will also be much more useful to your guild if you are in one.

The following is one of the most cost-efficient ways of power leveling Alchemy in World of Warcraft.  You may want to make a list of the ammount of each herb or item you need as some items need the same herbs or reagants.

Levels 1-55 Apprentice Alchemist

• As an apprentice you will want to make Minor Healing Potions.  You will be making these to around level 60 alchemy and will need 60 Peacebloom, 60 Silverleaf and 60 Empty Vials. Keep the Minor Healing Potions because they will be used as an ingredient later on.  Go and learn Journeyman Alchemist once you are 60 and learn Lesser Healing Potions.

Levels 55-125 Journeyman Alchemist

• From level 60-110 you are going to be making Lesser Healing Potions.  You will need 50 (people are reporting more to reach 110 so I suggest closer to 70) Minor Healing Potions and 50 Briarthorn.
• At 110 Learn the Healing Potions recipe.
• Now from 110-125 you should make 15 Healing Potions.   To do this you will need 15 Bruiseweed, 15 Briarthorn and 15 leaded vials.
• Now learn Expert Alchemist at the appropriate trainer.

Levels 125-200 Expert Alchemist

• Make 15 more Healing Potions. To do this you will need 15 Bruiseweed, 15 Briarthorn and 15 leaded vials.
• From 140-155 you will want to make 15 Lesser Mana Potions. You will need 15 Mageroyal, 15 Stranglekelp and 15 Empty Vials.
• At 155 go get the training to make greater healing potions
• Now for 155-185 make 30 greater healing potions.  You will need 30 Liferoot, 30 Kingsblood, and 30 leaded vials.
• From 185-200 you will want to make 15 Elixirs of Agility.  You need 15 Stranglekelp, 15< Goldthorn, and 15 leaded vials.
• Once you are 200 go and train Artisan Alchemist.

Levels 200-265 Artisan Alchemist

• From 200-210 you will want to make 10 more Elixirs of Agility.  You need 10 Stranglekelp, 10 Goldthorn, and 10 leaded vials.
• 210-215 you will make five Elixirs of Greater Defense.  You need 5 Wild Steelbloom, 5 Goldthorn, and 5 leaded vials.
• Now, from 215 to 230 make 15 with 15 Sungrass, 15 Khadgar’s Whisker, and 15 Crystal Vial.
• 215-250 requires that you make 20 Elixirs of Detect Undead requiring 20 Arthas’ Tears and 20 Crystal Vial.
• Now from 250 to 265 make 15 Elixirs of Greater Agility.  You will need 15 Sungrass, 15 Goldthorn,  and 15 Crystal Vial.

Levels 265-300 Artisan Alchemist

• Go and learn the Superior Mana Potion and the Major Healing Potion recipes from a Master Alchemist Trainer.
• From 265-285 you will want to create 20 Superior Mana Potion.  You need 40 Sungrass, 40 Blindweed, and 20 Crystal Vial.
• 285-300 requires you make 15 Major Healing Potion using 30 Golden Sansam, 15 Mountain Silversageand 15 Crystal Vial.

Levels 300-325 Master Alchemist

• You will now want to learn Master Alchemist.  The trainers are in the Outland:  If you are alliance see Alchemist Gribble or if you are horde see Apothecary Antonivich.
• Learn whichever recipes you want but we will be making Volatile Healing Potions.
• Make sure you are level 50 to level past level 300 Alchemy.
• 300-325 Requires you make 25 Volatile Healing Potions.  You need 25 Felweed, 25 Golden Sansam and 25 Imbued Vials.

Levels 325-350 Master Alchemist

• You need to be 325 to learn Super Healing Potion.
• From 325-350 make 25 Super Healing Potion.  You will need 50 Netherbloom, 25 Felweed and 25 Imbued Vials

Levels 350-400 Grand Master Alchemy

• The next step for 350-375 is to learn the Major Dream Sleepless Potion.
• You will now need to make 25 Major Dream Sleepless Potion and can still be a Master Alchemist.  You will need 25 Dreaming Glory, 25 Nightmare Vine and 25 Imbued Vial
• Make sure you learn Grand Master Alchemy and pick up the following recipes from a Grand Master Alchemy Trainer.  To be a Grand Master Alchemist you have to be level 65.
• 375-385 one must create 10 Guru’s Elixir.  You will need 30 Pygmi oil and 10 Imbued Vial.
• At 385 to 395 you will want to make 10 Elixir of Mighty Strength.  You will need 20 Tiger Lily and 10 Imbued Vial.
• At 395 Elixir of Mighty Agility becomese orange and you will want to make 10 until 405.  You will need 20 GoldClover, 20 Adder’s Tongue and 10  Imbued Vial.
• There are other items you can create as there are many new recipes, but the ones listed start at orange so you get the most bang for your buck.

Levels 400-450 Grand Master Alchemy

• Remember at 400 you can start Northrend Alchemy Research.  A nice addition to WotLK
• 405-410 should be crafting 5 Runic Healing Potions.  You will need 5 Goldclover, 10 Icethorn and 5 more Imbued Vial.
• From 410-425 the smartest choice is 15 Runic Mana Potions.  For this you need 15 Goldclover, 30 LichBloom and 15 Imbued Vial.
• For 425-435 you will want to create 10 Transmute: Earthsiege Diamond.  For this you will need 10 Dark Jade<, 10 Huge Citrine and 10 Eternal Fire.
• From 435-450 there are a few choices you can create.  The one with the fewest items needed is Flask of the Frost Wyrm.   Create 15 of these using 75 Icethorn, 75 Lichbloom, 15 Frost Lotus and 15 Enchanted Vials.

Additional Alchemy Tips: For Grand Master Alchemy it is recommended that you have herbalism at a decent level as it might be hard to find the items you need on AH.  We have a free herbalism guide.  Check out our Herbalism Power Leveling Guide Here.   As time goes by however, WotLK will be played more and the items will stock up on AH.  It is also recommended that you have an Alchemist Stone or something like it as these items can help you out HUGE in the long run.
