You can make lots of money being a 450 blacksmith as mail and plate classes depend on some of the items you make.  Blacksmithing also gives yourself a benefit as you can add a socket to your own gloves or bracers at level 400.

Jewelcrafting recipes are also called Designs, are used by Jewelcrafters to learn to create rings, necklaces, trinkets, and also cut gems which can be set into sockets on armor and weapons.  You can buy most designs from a vendor, but some can be looted or obtained as a prize from a quest.

I tried to make the cheapest leveling guide as possible, but sometimes depending on the server, the prices may vary.  I also noticed some cheaper items are sold by random trainers all over the place, so sometimes you might be making a bit more of an expensive item but it is bought from a regular jewelcrafting trainer to save you time.  Some of these items get very expensive..  Prices also vary determining your server.  If you don’t have enough money you really need to check this gold guide out, the review can be found here..  I know this looks like a lot of items as well, but remember, this is going to get you to 450 and is quite accurate, not like some of the other guides out there.  You dont have to buy these all at once, i have listed the specific mats needed for each leveled section.

Item List:

Apprentice JewelCrafting (1-75)

Go ahead and learn Apprentice Jewelcrafting from a list of these trainers and pick up new designs..

Journeyman Jewelcrafting (80-155)

Now learn Journeyman Jewelcrafting and pick up new designs..  A list of trainers can be found here.

  • 150-170 Now make 20 [Mithril Filigree] You will need 40x [Mithril Bar]  KEEP THEM..  Note:  You will need about 100 of these for the next 50 levels after 170, so you can choose to make as many of these as you want, or to level faster, just buy the rest on the ah.

Expert JewelCrafting 160-225

Go ahead and learn Expert JewelCrafting now and pick up new designs.  At level 200 is a tough spot because most items are rare drops and the two figurines you can create last 25 levels, so you need a ton of materials.  Check out the two options and see which materials and recipes are available on your server.

Artisan JewelCrafting (230-300)

Now go and learn Artisan Jewelcrafting from the appropriate trainer and learn all the new designs.  This is where some of the materials start getting reeeally expensive.  If you need gold be sure to check out the gold guide or the review here.

  • 290-310   This is kind of a crappy part as we will be creating this item through orange as usual, but now through yellow till it turns green.  That means at 300 it will turn yellow, so it will take 2 maybe 3 crafts to level up.  The other options are going to blackrock depths and preying for a drop.  So make around 30x [Emerald Lion Ring] using 60x [Huge Emerald] and 30x [Thorium Setting]

Master JewelCrafting (305-375)

Go and learn master jewelcrafting and all the new recipes and designs.

Grand Master Jewelcrafting (380-450)

Go and learn grand master jewelcrafting, learn all the new recipes while you are there.  People have complained about the cost and selection of the recipes for these levels.  I have picked these recipes because they are sold by trainers themselves so yo udont have to hope for a rare drop or pray that its on the AH.  This is a Jewelcrafting speedleveling guide and if you dont have the gold for these items, be sure to check out the gold guide or the review here.  You will find that all items are expensive at these levels however.  There are other recipes if you want a rarer variety which are a fraction cheaper found here.

These are grinding methods using only a few recipes.  There are many more recipes if you want a variety which can be found here.

  • From 440 – 450 the designs you need will require Dalaran Jewelcrafting Tokens.  You can find the quests you need to do to obtain those tokens at the link.  Yeah so like I just said you need to do some quests to obtain the Dalaran Jewelcrafting Tokens.  Then you need to go to Tiffany Cartier in Dalaran and buy one of the Jewelcrafting designs that will get you to 440-450.

The release of WoW’s ‘Wrath of the Lich King‘ expansion has brought with it a great new profession to learn – Inscription.

The basis of the Inscription profession is that your character collects various herbs that will combine to create different types of ink. The different types of ink and pigments you create combined with parchments make up your different glyphs.

Inscribers learn to create Glyphs that can be used as enhancements to various spells or racial abilities. For example, minor glyphs could improve cosmetic items or your increase your abilities temporarily, like added intelligence or increased agility, which may replace the need certain other spell reagents.

Major glyphs can also increase the amount of damage dealt to an enemy when attached to your weapon, so they’ll be very useful in combat too. You could also create glyphs that greatly enhance your armor, giving you higher than normal defenses during battle.

With certain glyphs, you are able to turn them into scrolls so that you can trade them with other players or sell them at the Auction House.

Because you need to use herbs in your inscription leveling, this makes the Inscription perfect as a combo with Herbalism.  Check out our free 1-450 Herbalism guide here.  Once you’ve collected the specific herbs you need, you create your different pigments and inks by milling the herbs and then turn them into useful glyphs.

Many new Inscribers will find that early recipes learned from various trainers will teach them to make scrolls for increasing intelligence, agility, spirit, or stamina. These can be very handy while you level up your character.

As you go up through the levels and gain access to new towns and areas, you’ll meet new trainers who will be happy to teach you new recipes. The higher you can work through your Inscription levels, the more useful the glyphs and scrolls become.

You will find quite a few racial-specific glyphs among the recipes too. For example, hunters might find a Glyph of Revive Pet very handy but a druid is going to find a Glyph of Thorns helpful in reducing mana cost.

If you’re a warrior class, then the Glyph of Battle will be great for increasing your battle shout duration for 1 minute and for rogues wanting to pick more pockets without having to get so close to mobs, then the Glyph of Pick Pocket is your best bet.

WotLK Inscription is one of the easier professions to level up in WoW especially if you already have the Herbalism profession. Not only will you be creating your own ways to help increase your chances of surviving battles and increasing your character’s own strengths, but you could also make a very handy amount of gold by selling your creations to other players and on the Auction House.

Mining Tip #1 – Leveling Up your Skill

If you are looking to level up your mining skill quickly, head to Durotar. Durotar is an abundant source copper and tin. The canyon lets you go in circles where you run to one end and mining that source and then going towards the other end mining the other source. By the time you backtrack, you will notice the sources have already respawned.

You can even find more tin in the Barrens once you have reached the tin level by circling through the areas where you find Bristleback, Scorpids, and Razormane.

For iron miners, you can circle around the Shimmering Flats located in the Thousand Needles area. The spawn rates of iron are good enough for leveling up, but be properly equipped as it’s a dangerous area.

If you are looking for Thorium, head to the Un’goto Crater and cycle through the Slithering Scar, Fire Plume Ridge, and Burning Steppes. Keep mining that to reach skill 300 and auction some off to earn some decent gold.

Mining Tip #2 – Using the Gatherer Add-on

This is great for starters as this WoW add-on exclusively for miners and other collecting professions tracks nearby ore node locations and plots them in the mini-map. It isn’t a replacement of the tracking ability, but keeps track of the minerals you previously found so that whenever ore grinding is needed, getting it is easy.

Mining Tip #3 – Respawn Rarities

If you are looking for rare metal and wish to bet on chances, you can try heading to respawned nodes of cheap metals and hope to see rarer ones. Tin, Iron, and Mithril nodes can respawn to Silver, Gold, and Trusilver nodes respectively.

Leatherworking in wow and wotlk uses the hides found from the skinning prof. so its not a bad idea to be a leatherworker and skinner.  We also have a skinning guide that can be found here.   Armor produced by Leatherworking is used by leather- and mail-wearing classes: Druids, Hunters, Shamans, and Rogues.

Once you hit the higher levels there are three specialised Leatherworking areas you can work with.  The three specialties are: Dragonscale Leatherworking, Elemental Leatherworking, or Tribal Leatherworking.

Now onto the guide. You can probably power level fishing from between 12-14 hours from 1 all the way to 450.  This guide is meant only to power level you in fishing.  It wont make you much money while you power level, but once you are at 450 you can fish the expensive stuff!  If you want to power level your character to 80 be sure to check this out.

  1. Your first step is to go and buy a fishing pole.  You also need 1 Shiny Bauble.  You can get these from any fishing supplier in your area.
  2. Now go and Buy “Expert Fishing: The Bass and You.”  You can buy this book from Old Man Heming in Booty Bay, in Stranglethorn Vale or in the auction house.  Also when you are the right level buy the book “Master Fishing – The Art of Angling” from Juno Dufrain in Cenarion Refuge.  You can also train this in Northrend..
  3. Now you should learn Apprentice Fishing.  You can learn this in any major city.
  4. There are many ponds or lakes around the starting zones for each class that are perfect to start fishing in.  Head over to one and apply the Shiny Bauble lure.  You should fish from 1-75 in this area.  After level 25 the fishing will be much easier as the fish wont get away as often in this area.
  5. Now head on over to your capital city such as Ironforge or Orgrimmar and traing Journeyman Fishing.  Some starting zones also offer this, which would also be quite beneficial to you if you wanted to stay there and level to 225.
  6. Start fishing somewhere in the capital city.  Once you hit 125 read “Expert Fishing: The Bass and You“  You will fish till 225 in this area.
  7. Now you need to head on over to Dustwallow Marsh and speak with Nat Pagle.  To get your Artisan Fishing you must accept the quest “Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme.“  You need to fisnish this quest to pass level 225.  Quest details are listed in the link.
  8. Stay in Dustwallow Marsh and fish until you hit 375.  Once you are at 275 remember to read “Master Fishing – The Art of Angling” or travel to Northrend and learn Master Fishing from a trainer there.
  9. Once you have read Master Fishing – The Art of Angling or trained as Master Fishing in Northrend go to Azeroth and fish until 450, you can pretty much fish anywhere as they will not get away from you at these levels.  I would fish at  Orgrimmar if I was horde, or Wetlands as Alliance.

The last few steps take a long time and may be quite boring.  However, this is the fastest way to get to 450.  Check with wowhead the exact coords of the specific trainers and such.  I have added links to as much as I can.  There are also many other items that increase your fishing skill that you can try to get a hold of such as: +40 Arcanite Fishing Pole (+35 from the pole, +5 from putting the High Test Eternium Fishing Line on it for total of +40. +5 Lucky Fishing Hat +5 Nat Pagle’s Extreme Anglin’ Boots  +2 Fishing Skill Enchant to gloves and +100 Aquadynamic Fish Attractor (lure).
