Rogue Assassination Leveling Talent Build Guide for 1-80 WotLK (51/13/7)
This is the rogue leveling talent build guide. It is ready, updated and made for the 3.08 patch and beyond for 1-80 wotlk. We are going to be mainly using assassination for this build as we are focusing on three spells: Mutilate Eviscerate and Rupture. This build is perfect for pve, questing and five man dungeons. Remember when you are leveling a rogue in wow, the downtime between kills must be little as possible. You can play your rogue how you want, but try to work out ways and combos that you are not taking too much time resting in between kills. At the higher levels you can change the build around a bit, it isnt too important as long as you have the base assassination build down.

If you are having trouble leveling your rogue I highly suggest you check out Zygor’s Leveling Guide because it has a perfect rogue leveling path that gets you to 80 faster and easier than any other way. No matter what level you are, you load the thing and it points with an arrow the direction to each monster, quest giver, trainer etc. Its pretty crazy. It also has an in game box that tells you exactly what to do, like kill 5 boars, run west 10 miles, etc. You can find out more here or check out the review.

Ok, great, but you miss a lot of information.
What weapons should i use? and in which hand?
what glyphs?
what poisons?
what skill should i pull with?
Seriously, this guide lacks a lot, it’s not a guide, it’s just a spec.

Im currently only a lvl 66 rogue and leveled to 60 as sub spec, I changed to a similar assassin spec and for the most part it works well. I thought I could help answer a few of the questions here.
First this is not a rogue playing guide, its a talent guide, says so at top of page.
Second, rogues do not yell out “hey im over here come get me”,,, meaning you do not pull as a rogue, you use stealth and get the drop on them. however if there is a situation where you need to pull a mob away from other close by mobs, you would use whatever ranged weapon you have and its assosiated talent, throw or shoot.
As for opening moves, idealy you would be stealthed when you first attack, the attack depends on what talents you have so far, so whatever is handy before getting cheap shot. use cheap shot until you get hunger for blood. once you have hunger for blood you will want to get a bleed on the tartget asap so opening with garrote becomes a better option. but if hfb is still up when you are ready to take on the next mob cheap shot is good to use.
this is my dps opener at lvl 66, garrote > slice and dice > 2x mutilate (to get 5 combo points, sometimes 3x mutilate is needed) > envenom. most mobs will be dead somewhere in this attack if not a second after. harder mobs I start the rotation back at mutilate.
For poisons you will want deadly poison for envenom and I use instant poison for pve and crippling poison for pvp.
Glyphs: using mutilate and hunger for blood so far, obviously if you havnt gotten that far into the tree yet it would be a waste to get them.
hope this helps out a bit, and any feedback from more experienced rogues would be welcomed.
