Mage Leveling Talent Build Guide using Fire and Arcane for WotLK 1-80
Welcome to the Mage PVE Fire and Arcane Talent Build Guide. This is fresh for World of Warcraft (WoW) Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK). This talent build is designed to keep you alive and level as quick and fast as possible from 1-80. When leveling in wow it is very important to kill things fast while keeping alive and low down time. Also remember to try to drink and eat as little as possible over time as this slows down leveling times. You can play your Mage how you want, but try to experiment spell combos that allow you to kill and move on to the next monster with as little down time as possible.

If you are having trouble leveling your Mage I highly suggest you check out Zygor’s Leveling Guide because it has a perfect Mage leveling path that gets you to 80 faster and easier than any other way. No matter what level you are, you load the thing and it points with an arrow the direction to each monster, quest giver, trainer etc. Its pretty crazy. It also has an in game box that tells you exactly what to do, like kill 5 boars, run west 10 miles, etc. You can find out more here or check out the review.

I’ve noticed a flaw, level 47 / 48 in Fire both have the same skill, and percents, sure we get what you mean, but just to let you know, you might want to fix that.
* Level 47: Molten Fury (1/2)
* Level 48: Molten Fury (1/2)

Why no blast wave? It’s one of the best fire talents in my opinion.

I’ll keep it brief: Burning Determination, Arcane Fortitude and Magic Absorption seem designed for PvP more than PvE. I would choose Burning Soul (for threat reduction) and any of Spell Impact, Torment the Weak or Arcane Meditation instead.
Just my two bob.
P.S. Max, Blast Wave is also more PvP than PvE as it would generate a fair amount of threat (something you don’t need to worry about generating in PvP action) and also might disrupt the tank’s concentration/rotation/mojo/other when the targets he’s hitting all suddenly jump back a few feet then all start hitting on the mage. Food for thought! =)
