1.Pick up mining.
The materials that you use for engineering are typically mined, and you will find that if you can procure these materials yourself rather than going to the auction house, you will be in much better shape. Mining trainers and engineering trainers are often found together, so they are a great pair of professions to pick up.
2.Make things!
When it comes to leveling engineering, you will find that it can be frustrating to keep on doing it again and again. After all, when you are working at the lower levels, you aren’t necessarily getting anything good; in fact, most of the items that you are crafting are going to be gray, and therefore, less valuable. What you are getting, however, is increases to your skills. The higher your skills are, the more fun and valuable things you can make.
3.Love your Arclight Spanner
Like a mining pick is to a miner, and as skinning knife is to a skinner, you will find that your arclight spanner is a very valuable tool. For the most part, you can’t create any engineering goods without it. You only need to make one, but if you are so inclined, you can make a few and throw them up on the auction house.
4.Speaking of the Auction House…
When it comes to engineering, remember that you have something that people want. While you are leveling engineering, you will find that you are in a great place to make some cash. You won’t need all the items that you are making, so put them up on the auction house. Get the add-on, Auctioneer and you will be able to figure out what a good price for your goods are.
5.Fused Wiring
Mechanical mobs and training dummies will drop fused wiring, though the latter does it very rarely. This is possibly the most difficult engineering ingredient to get, and you will find that you can use it fairly sparingly. You can also sell it for a great deal of cash to other engineers.
6.Set aside engineering days
We all know that there is a lot to do on World of Warcraft, and between questing, socializing, grinding and all the rest, professions can sometimes take a back seat. Take some time and work on your professions. Especially if you start this early, you will find that your profession will grow with you. It’ll be worth it as you approach the end game!
Leveling engineering can be a very rewarding experience, so make sure that if you choose this profession that you take the time to develop it! This is a great way to enjoy the game and to make some quick gold while you are at it.
