Free Leatherworking 1-450 Wotlk WoW Power Leveling Guide
So you want to be a leatherworker huh? well we have a guide for you. Leatherworking is one of the primary professions in which you can only have two of.
Leatherworking in wow and wotlk uses the hides found from the skinning prof. so its not a bad idea to be a leatherworker and skinner. We also have a skinning guide that can be found here. Armor produced by Leatherworking is used by leather- and mail-wearing classes: Druids, Hunters, Shamans, and Rogues.
Once you hit the higher levels there are three specialised Leatherworking areas you can work with. The three specialties are: Dragonscale Leatherworking, Elemental Leatherworking, or Tribal Leatherworking.

You should at around these levels go and train in Journeyman Leatherworking
Levels 75-100
- Go ahead and make 25x Light Leather Bracers. You will nfleeed 150 light leather, and 100x Coarse Thread. I realize this is a lot of light leather but it also gets rid of a big chunk of leveling. These also sell for over 3 silver to the vendor. If you need more gold check out gold-secrets guide.

- This one is a bit annoying and its a bit of a tough spot, you need a recipe sold from a specific trainer. You need to buy the Pattern: Wicked Leather Gauntlets. These are sold by : Werg Thickblade in Tirisfal Glades for the Horde and Leonard Porter in Western Plaguelands for the Alliance
- Make 5 Wicked Leather Gauntlets; You need 40x Rugged Leather 5x Rune Thread and 5x Black Dye.

Levels 330-340
- Now create 10 Thick Draenic Vest. You should use 140x Knothide Leather and 30x Rune Thread.
Levels 340-350
Kind of another tough spot, if you can find the Pattern: Shadow Armor Kit it would be perfect to make ten of those but for now…

- Now we make 10 x Jormungar Leg Armor. You need 30 Heavy Borean Leather and 120 Jormungar Scale. You might need to make an additional couple to get to 415. (This item has changed since I made the guide and is very expensive to level) Here are some more options
- If you have any arctic fur, make any one of the Fur Lining Recipes, One sold by the trainer is Fur Lining – Attack Power

Levels 415-420
- Ok, Now make 5 Packs of Endless Pockets. You will require 80x Heavy Borean Leather.
Levels 420-430
- Now make 10 Virulent Spaulders. We need to use 120x Heavy Borean Leather and 20x Eternal Fire. Remember, this stuff at these levels is EXPENSIVE. Get this if you need money.
Levels 430-440
- Now create 10 Icescale Leg Armor. Use 20x Arctic Fur and 20x Icy Dragonscale.
Levels 440-450
- You can make any of the high end items now since 440 will let you create any leatherworking items. At this level to max out you can make things like Ice Striker’s Cloak, Durable Nerubhide Cape, Icescale Leg Armor or frosthide leg armor.

“Levels 430-440
* Now create 10 Icescale Leg Armor. Use 20x Arctic Fur and 20x Icy Dragonscale.”
This also needs a Frozen Orb – my server they go for about 110G. You are saying 10 of them – that’s a cool 1100 gold right there.
February 17th, 2009 at 1:29 am
Any other options though?? Its not unheard of for some profs from 400-450 to spend a few thousand gold. Other than grinding for the mats yourself, the only other option is to buy the mats yourself, and yes it is expensive.

“This also needs a Frozen Orb – my server they go for about 110G. You are saying 10 of them – that’s a cool 1100 gold right there.”
IF your not a nub and you use intelligence you can buy frozen orbs from the emblem vendors for 10 emblems… I make like 40 in 3 hours… IF that helps you out.

Cured light hide requires light hide, not light leather as you’ve mentioned.

fixed
March 13th, 2009 at 2:41 pm
Okay, I have to ask. How do you make the emblems so quickly? Heroics? Heroic Violet Hold, I expect? That would seem to be the “Fastest” heroic.
April 20th, 2009 at 12:53 am
My guess would be multiple heroics…one of them being the daily heroic….
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Complete mat list for old world [Pre-outlands] figured this would be helpfull for anyone farming the mats and since outlands and NR are easy to famr this is just so you don’t waste time.

July 23rd, 2009 at 10:11 pm
at 300 [Wild Draenish Boots] is alot cheaper to make
November 12th, 2009 at 2:17 am
are you kidding me? 20x guardian pants? bro… raptor hide belt. need i say more? takes 1/3rd less mats and the ‘extra’ mats u need drop off one of the best farmable heavy leather mobs… needs some work on efficiency… this guide is for people who just buy stacks and stacks and stacks off AH, not for people who want to do it themselves IMO.
January 5th, 2010 at 4:05 pm
The fletchers gloves no longer need feathers but rather cured med hides.
Thanks
January 5th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
Also embossed leather pants are green at level 75 and there’s no way 25 of them will get you to 100.
IMO, this guide doesn’t work
Best spend your time just buying mats for the next 25 levels at a time from the AH, based on what’s cheap.
January 6th, 2010 at 5:15 pm
I changed the embossed leather pants to light leather bracers. This should do the trick as they are shown to go be orange at 70 and go yellow at 100 according to wowhead….
January 6th, 2010 at 5:21 pm
Updates have been made and a more efficient path has been chosen for that section…
January 10th, 2010 at 8:17 am
—————————–
Levels 405-415
Now we make 10 x Jormungar Leg Armor. You need 50 Heavy Borean Leather and 10 Jormungar Scale. You might need to make an additional couple to get to 415.
—————————–
Erm According to my LW in game
1 = 3 Heavy Borean Leather & 12 Jormungar Scale
10 = 30 Heavy Borean Leather & 120 Jormungar Scale
Making that step rather unreasonable IMHO
January 11th, 2010 at 2:47 pm
The correct recipes have been added and two different options to level have been added. The mats have changed since this guide was first created! Thanks for your input.
