You can probably power level fishing from between 12-14 hours from 1 all the way to 450. This guide is meant only to power level you in fishing. It wont make you much money while you power level, but once you are at 450 you can fish the expensive stuff! If you want to power level your character to 80 be sure to check this out.
- Your first step is to go and buy a fishing pole. You also need 1 Shiny Bauble. You can get these from any fishing supplier in your area.
- Now go and Buy “Expert Fishing: The Bass and You.” You can buy this book from Old Man Heming in Booty Bay, in Stranglethorn Vale or in the auction house. Also when you are the right level buy the book “Master Fishing – The Art of Angling” from Juno Dufrain in Cenarion Refuge. You can also train this in Northrend..
- Now you should learn Apprentice Fishing. You can learn this in any major city.
- There are many ponds or lakes around the starting zones for each class that are perfect to start fishing in. Head over to one and apply the Shiny Bauble lure. You should fish from 1-75 in this area. After level 25 the fishing will be much easier as the fish wont get away as often in this area.
- Now head on over to your capital city such as Ironforge or Orgrimmar and traing Journeyman Fishing. Some starting zones also offer this, which would also be quite beneficial to you if you wanted to stay there and level to 225.
- Start fishing somewhere in the capital city. Once you hit 125 read “Expert Fishing: The Bass and You“ You will fish till 225 in this area.
- Now you need to head on over to Dustwallow Marsh and speak with Nat Pagle. To get your Artisan Fishing you must accept the quest “Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme.“ You need to fisnish this quest to pass level 225. Quest details are listed in the link.
- Stay in Dustwallow Marsh and fish until you hit 375. Once you are at 275 remember to read “Master Fishing – The Art of Angling” or travel to Northrend and learn Master Fishing from a trainer there.
- Once you have read Master Fishing – The Art of Angling or trained as Master Fishing in Northrend go to Azeroth and fish until 450, you can pretty much fish anywhere as they will not get away from you at these levels. I would fish at Orgrimmar if I was horde, or Wetlands as Alliance.
The last few steps take a long time and may be quite boring. However, this is the fastest way to get to 450. Check with wowhead the exact coords of the specific trainers and such. I have added links to as much as I can. There are also many other items that increase your fishing skill that you can try to get a hold of such as: +40 Arcanite Fishing Pole (+35 from the pole, +5 from putting the High Test Eternium Fishing Line on it for total of +40. +5 Lucky Fishing Hat +5 Nat Pagle’s Extreme Anglin’ Boots +2 Fishing Skill Enchant to gloves and +100 Aquadynamic Fish Attractor (lure).
Congratulations! You have now power leveled Fishing to 450! If you are planning to use Fishing to generate gold be sure to check out this guide. It not only tells you the best ways of making money with fishing but tells you every little secret that you never would have known concerning collecting fish. Not only that, it teaches you secrets about every profession in wotlk and wow, along with every single unknown gold making secret in the whole game, its almost unfair. I just wanted to add on a little bit if acceptable. I am currently leveling fishing on my level 74 druid, and found that if you get to level 100 fishing and get the materials for Aquadynamic Fish Attractor(+100 fishing), its quite cheap, and fishing is increased greatly. I used this guide until around 175ish, and than went to Howling Fjord with almost 100 Aquadynamic fish Attractors. if you have an epic rider, ride along the coast, and fish any schools you can find.(my fishing is level 250 right now, and i still dont catch the fish from the school every time) but this way you can make money or save up for your cooking, and these schools are found so much in grizzly hills, but there are 70+ monsters there, which do hit hard if you have a group on you.
just kinda wanted to throw that in, if you will allow it. guide is great! =D

Quest in the Lower City of Shattrath City is very easy to do for anyone around level 60+ as the mobs are levels 61-63… you get a few experience points and a +20 fishing pole…
also, in my server, if you have cooking 400, or have 350 and can do the daily in Dalaran, get 3 of the cooking marks or w.e they are called, and get the Dragonfin Filet Recipe, as they sell for 100g a stack. The Filets give +40 Str and +40 Sta.. they are the best for tanks and melee dps… you can also get another recipe that give +40 Agi instead of the Str… which people may prefer… To level as a melee dps, i would use something easy to get which i believe is the Mammoth Meals?… its very easy to get the Chunk o’ Mammoth as you just go to borean and kill the level like…. 71 mammoths, which drop it often.. as well as you can make a few gold off of the random drops of these mobs, which i have found, drop BoE blues around 70 more often than most mobs in the area….
sorry… ranting
anyways, the fishing daily will help you cook as well, as there is a fishing daily that you can get in Borean, and if you go down in the cove by the, i believe it is D.H.A.R.M.A.? bird thing…. you can always find a school of manta rays down there, and usually by kaskala as well…. Grizzly Hills offers alot of Glacial Salmon schools, and the lake above Moaki Harbor always has Dragonfin schools… best of luck to all fishermen/women… hope this helps!

You are no longer required to do Pat Angler to pass skill 275, it works fine to just learn the skill from the fishing trainer in Dalaran if you are high levelled. Very nice guide though, quick and sweet.
