The popular and mysterious dragon deathwing will return in the upcoming wow expansion cataclysm.  We saw deathwing in human form in Ulduar but now the dragon returns as a boss to fight in the game.

This excerpt is taken from wowiki’s deathwing info page

“Deathwing will finally appear in World of Warcraft’s present in the third expansion, Cataclysm, announced at BlizzCon 2009 and will be the final boss encounter of the expansion. During the lore panel at BlizzCon, Chris Metzen explained the circumstances behind his corruption and the part he plays in the coming earth-shattering changes to Azeroth:

“And what has happened in recent years is that the whispers of the Old Gods have gotten worse, the power of the Old Gods has seen rising with C’thun and Yogg-Saron, there are more, their power has magnified Deathwing’s power, you know, tenfold. He’s a very, very powerful dude this days.”^[12]

“What has happened to spark the Cataclysm is that Deathwing, with his bachelor pad in the plane of earth that we call Deepholm…Deathwing has awoken from his slumber and literally erupted into the world. And he is so powerful that his literal explosion into the physical plane of Azeroth is what has caused the Cataclysm – tidal waves, massive volcanic eruptions at a global level….tsunamis, freak storms. No part of the world has been left untouched.”^[12]

His work with the twilight dragonflight will also be expanded upon in the Twilight Highlands that surround Grim Batol.

Deathwing will be the last Dragon Aspect to finally appear in dragon form in the game, and the second that can be fought by players (the first being Malygos).”

Another big announcement to make today.  Yesterday Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft Cataclysm will be released in 2010.

Apparently the look and feel of many of the environments will be changed with the new expansion Cataclysm.  Not only that but the lands will be vastly more expansive.  (Way more area to explore!) (more…)

The Official World of Warcraft Magazine launched yesterday.  The mmo has officially gone offline with this new addition to the popular game.  The magazine became available for subscription at 5pm last night (Aug 21st) and can be found at worldofwarcraftthemagazine.com.  This is not available on newstands and has to be acquired through the site.

The magazine is being offered at around 40$ a year, seems like a reasonable price, but will it work.  With the new age of the internet, many magazine publishers have had tough times keeping up with the free nature of the internet.  Will you buy it??  Leave your comments on the issue.

What is Disenchanting?? “Disenchanting is the process of transmuting armor and weapons of uncommon, rare, or epic quality into magical elements (crystals, shards, essences, and dusts), which can then be used in enchanting recipes. Only Enchanters gain the ability to disenchant, which is the primary source of enchanting ingredients. General

* Bonus Armor: The mechanics for items with bonus armor on them has changed (any cloth, leather, mail, or plate items with extra armor, or any other items with any armor). Bonus armor beyond the base armor of an item will no longer be multiplied by any talents or by the bonuses of Bear Form, Dire Bear Form, or Frost Presence.
* Racial restrictions on mounts have now been lifted. Night Elves on mechanostriders? Tauren on raptors? You’re not seeing things. (more…)

Exciting Christmas Eve News!  We have been thinking about sponsoring a good wotlk guild for some time now, and we have chosen Ritual on the Crushridge West Server.  This is a great raiding guild doing 10 and 25 man raids currently working their way through the last wing of Naxxramas.

Here is a list on some of the latest Death Knight builds out there for wotlk.  Of course the death knight has not been around for that long so these tree builds will change over time.   You may also want to tweak one aspect of the Death knight build go right ahead.  Make sure to contact us if you want to add your own death knight talent tree as well!  Death Knights have three trees:  Blood, which mainly focuses on physical-damage dealing abilities.  Frost, which uses a lot of spells and control, this one is also good for bursts of critical damage.  The final death knight tree is the Unholy Tree, which has summons, diseases and is a pretty good pvp tree.  You can use this talent calulator to come up with your own build or check out the different abilities. NEW CHANGES TO WARRIOR: With Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) came changes to the Warrior Class.

• The warrior received a different ability with Battle Shout.  The Battle Shout will now effect the whole raid, not just the party.  This will be very useful come raiding time!
• Warriors also have new talents!  Titan’s Grip is a new fury talent which allows the warrior to hold two-handed weapons in each hand.  Shockwave is available to protection warriors which damages and stuns all monsters standing in front of them.  There is also a new Arms talent called Bladestorm which spins and hits all the enemies around you every few seconds.
• Blizzard is also improving the Protection spec so that it is more viable outside of tanking by increasing damage, with improvements to Heroic Strike, Revenge, and Shockwave. Shield Slam will also be available to all Warriors. (more…)
