Cataclysm WoW Expansion Release Date Set
Another big announcement to make today. Yesterday Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft Cataclysm will be released in 2010.

Apparently the look and feel of many of the environments will be changed with the new expansion Cataclysm. Not only that but the lands will be vastly more expansive. (Way more area to explore!)
“In addition to revitalizing some of the most familiar and iconic areas of the game world, this third World of Warcraft expansion will add new features and a large amount of new content for players to explore,” said Blizzard CEO and cofounder Mike Morhaime in a press release.
Goblins and Worgen, seen in the picture above, will be two new playable races. There are also many new additions that will come with WoW Cataclysm, which has the WoW world in a storm.
A key to enjoying the new release is to be ready for it. Make sure you have all the gear and gold to take advantage of the new areas, and make sure you are level 80 too!

Will we need to buy the expanision or will it automatically be downloadable?

There are going to be a few addons, but the Official WoW Cataclysm will be a new game to buy.

That sounds pretty cool. Especially the two new races and areas. The concept of the Werewolf is amazing.
They look really cool, you can go to the WoW official website and see a preview of what they’ll look like in a 3D animation.

Blizz probably wont release Cataclysm till late this year. I hope they don’t rush it to the point of the content being lame kind of like wrath. BC was way better.

if Blizzard is really smart they will not release WoW – cataclysm till X-mas time. that way they can release like billions of copies and it will sell out fast ex/ ” blizzard releases after summer, it will not be a success, it will be a fail expansion again. and that blizzard can make like $2 Billion, just over X-mas holiday.” so i would really like to see Blizzard having more smarter people put in a release date for their releases for their games, instead of making so many expansions a ” MASSIVE FAIL ” i have played this game since it has first came out, so I have noticed most of Blizzard’s glitches / fail expansions that they have missed over the years, and if blizzard hires me for testing out their games, i can really make good use for them. I really dont wanna bug a Multi – Billionaire company about a few minor bugs / glitches but it will really make good use for us ( WoW Fanatics ). blizzard can take me in for a week or two and see if i can do some of the requirements they need for testing games. and i will certainly make good use to it. Seriously i have loved WoW for years now and havent been able to leave my game alone.

hehehe, cataclysm is awesome, almost every wow player is excited! cataclysm will form a whole different wow though, so if youre smart, i would say goodbye to the normal wow, all of SW and ironforge and things like that, cuz everything around it is gonna be burning and the cities will be up in smoke! say goodbye to the wow you know, and get ready for cataclysm!

I am not so much bothered about the new classes, having maxed leveld all current classes on both sides and hate raids had now got to the stage where I can roll and level new charactes almost with my eyes shut.(okay maybe a slight exageration) It has now become boring, repetative, so I look forward to the expansion purely for the new quests and landscapes I hope to return to this once great game when the expansion is released. In the meantime I will suffer with LOTRO.

i think it’s bull shit that the alliance get the werewolf race… werewolf’s has always been the evil kind…. i know the storie they have made for the classes but still think they should consider to change what team the new classes should be on…

Well… i cant patch wow atm since their excellent launcher craps itself. Can’t wait till i can hit this up though, leveling was the best part of the game especially when you can pop some pvp over the weekend for some fun, not for rating and all seriousness :/
P.S. Goodbye old WoW and the useless, dull and boring zones you offer (Who have you seen lately that levels in desolace? or Azshara ??)
@ Forager
What the hell are you on about? Both their expansion to date have been released at key times, with that said you can’t always know the exact date since new bugs / errors arise and can set the team back. Before you cry about supposed ‘fail’ expansions learn some fucking english and learn to live with the fact that with this much content you can’t expect them to have it picture perfect.
Posting on this won’t get you shit and a 16 year old won’t be let in to test games for glitches, this game is worth millions and they want people that are literate enough to make a proper sentance testing their games…
June 24th, 2010 at 2:40 pm
lol @ forager… yea blizzard really do “fail” dont they. Theyve only made and maintained the most sucessful game of all time this last 5 years… calling that fail is pretty much retarded. I wouldnt hold your breath on getting let in to test anything for them as from reading that post (as if they even would bother) they would have you nailed as a tard anyway
